Plant NADPH oxidases are enzymes that release electrons into the apoplastic space, generating reactive oxygen species and removing protons from the apoplast, thereby increasing pH. But what triggers NADPH oxidases, and where and when does this occur? More importantly, why? In my presentation, I will delve into these questions with a focus on root growth and navigation.
