SINGLE MOLECULE Microscopy and Manipulation
SIS code: MB151C01
Practical hands-on training on selected single-molecule experimental techniques and data analysis, belonging to group of methods known as quantitative bio-imaging.
October 30. - November 3., 2017
Using molecular motors and supported lipid bilayers as model systems, and also live cells for some methods, you will carry out state-of-the-art single-molecule detection and imaging using Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) based methods and Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy. You will also use Optical Tweezers to manipulate single molecules and to measure forces exerted by single molecular motors.
About 16 attendees will be selected to participate in the course. The selection will be based on the benefit of the participation for their research and career plans (you will be asked for a short motivation statement during the registration).
Deadline for pre-registration is August 30, 2017.
The selection will be finished and announced by September 3, 2017
Selected students of the Charles University will have the course included in the student‘s educational plan under SIS code: MB151C01.
- Students of the Charles University: free of charge
- Others: CZK 3 000.
Lunch, coffee and refreshments included. Payment deadline is September 29, 2017. Payment details will be sent to attendees at the time of their selection.
