CATference: 25 years of urban change
Urban and Regional Laboratory from Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, together with colleagues from Masaryk University are holding the 6th International Urban Geographies of Post-Communist States Conference (CATference) in Albertov, Prague, from 23th till 26th September 2015.
A wide range of contributions on the development of post-socialist cities (‘cities after transition’) will be discussed in the conference, bringing together papers from disciplines of social geography, sociology, architecture and others. At the same time, and considering that Prague´s Albertov neighbourhood – the venue of the CATference – was the initial place for the 1989 Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia, the participants will grasp the opportunity to look back at the development of the disciplines of urban geography and urban studies more generally during the last 25 years.
Besides the showcase of high-quality scholarship on the post-communist/post-socialist city, there will be a dense social programme including field trips.
