Reading Labyrinth of the World and Lusthauz of the Heart
today it is 400 years since John Amos Comenius, according to his own testimony, completed the manuscript of his work "The Labyrinth of the World and the Lusthouse (Paradise) of the Heart"
To commemorate this, the Department of Comeniology and Early Modern Intellectual History of the Philosophical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic organized an international online reading of the complete text of this wonderful, universally popular and translated work. It will take place all day today from 7:45 a.m. to approximately 7 p.m. and will be attended by dozens of our and foreign researchers, translators, those interested in Comenius or our literature, etc. The chapters of the Labyrinth will be heard not only in the original - in Comenius' delightful Czech, but also in in many other languages, even in those rather exotic for us (e.g. Japanese, Vietnamese, ...).
