Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for the 8th International Student and Early Career Conference NEW WAVE, which will take place on 19th – 20th May, 2016 in Prague, Czechia.

Traditionally, the NEW WAVE conference draws graduate and post-graduate students, as well as young professionals from the fields of Physical and Social Geography, Cartography, Demography, Sociology, Urban Planning and related disciplines to share and discuss their research in a friendly and open-minded atmosphere with a multidisciplinary audience.

• Francis J. Magilligan (Dartmouth College)

• Marie Heřmanová (refugee support in European transit zones)

FIELD TRIP: the city from a homeless perspective with Pragulic on 19th  May

CONFERENCE DINNER: 19th May

CONFERENCE DATE: 19th – 20th May, 2016

DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS: 15th March, 2016

We encourage you to submit individual papers and poster presentations. No single presentation should exceed 15 minutes. Posters should not be larger than A0 format. Please submit your abstract of no more than 200 words via the registration form. Even if you are not presenting a paper or a poster, please fill in the registration form.

FEES: free of charge

Attendance at the conference is free of charge (including the field trip expenses for presenting participants). Travel costs, accommodation and dinner expenses are not covered by organizers.

We encourage presenting authors to submit their papers to one of the following journals:

• Journal of Czech Geographical Society

The conference is organized by the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, Geographical Institute, and Czech Geographical Society.

The conference is held under the auspices of the Deputy Mayor of Prague, the Mayor of the Borough of Prague 2,  and the Rector of Charles University in Prague.
