Single central registration for CU libraries: Starting on 1 December 2019, you can register for all of the CU ibraries via a single online registration. If you are already registered with any of the CU libraries, your registration will automatically be extended to include all of the CU libraries and you will not have to fill in the online registration form. An online registration form is available for new readers on the website of the Central Library. Payment of fines by bank transfer Starting on 1 December 2019, you can now pay fines by bank transfer to account number: 38533021/0100 , variable symbol: 114020, specific symbol: Reader ID (on the ID card under the photo). Information about the current level of the fine can be found in your reader’s account. Please inform us in advance of payment by e-mail at: knihgeol@natur.cuni.cz.

The new Library and Lending Regulations came into force on 1 December 2019 (Rector’s Measure No. 36/2019).

At the present time the library fund has about 193,000 volumes.

    • journals and reprints,
    • proceedings of conferences,
    • maps,
    • monographs
    • textbooks,
    • dictionaries and encyclopedias,
    • university qualification work (Bachelor’s, Masters, RNDr., CSc., Ph.D., DSc. and professorial theses).

The Geology Library provides access to a wide range of electronic information resources, be these full texts or abstracts of articles in scientific journals, databases enabling searches for specialised information and electronic books, etc. Some of the above-mentioned electronic information resources are only accessible for students and employees of Charles University (Faculty of Science) and can only be used from computers with a faculty IP address (or via remote access which has been set up), others are freely available to all internet users.
