Two of Map Collection’s globes underwent restoration
After months-long restoration, which was carried out by RNDr. Miroslav Široký, CSc., two globes manufactured by the company Jan Felkl a syn located in Roztoky near Prague found their way back to Map Collection. Whereas the first one was probably made in the second half of the 1870s, the second one was manufactured at the beginning of the 20th century. Both globes were carefully restored and thoroughly cleaned, several cracks were repaired and worn-out spots retouched.
The overview of the restored globes of Map Collection can be found HERE. More information about the restoration of Map Collection’s cartographic documents are available HERE.
