Albertov 1989 exhibition in Jičín

The successful exhibition of the Library of Geography "Albertov 1989" has been traveling through the Czech libraries for 10 years.

The commemorative manifestation on the 50th anniversary of the famous and tragic events of November 17th, 1939 gradually grew into a demonstration against the Communist regime. The exhibition depicts the atmosphere of those dramatic days, the drastic intervention of the police and militias, the reaction of students and other people, and the gradual fall of communist power.

The exhibition was created by Eva Novotná together with Marie Novotná and Jaroslav Cuhra. A catalog was published in 2009 for the exhibition, which was immediately dismissed hopelessly. In previous years, the documents on the participation of students in the revolution were lent by the Jabok institution in Prague 2, the Study and Research Library in Hradec Králové, the Town of Dolní Bousov, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University and the Cultural and Information Center at the Lomnice nad Popelkou Castle.

You can also view the electronic exhibition in the repository of electronic exhibitions of the Geographical Library at the Faculty of Science at: http://digitool.is.cuni.cz/R/2MLKJ2VY7JPPXL83EHF9MG5TELV395B4EY3KEKISPXR5EIMY71-00063?func=dbin-jump-full&object_id=1545487&silo_library=GEN01&pds_handle=GUEST
