The 15th annual Conference of Young Demographer
On behalf of the Young Demographers, we would like to invite you to the 15th annual Conference of Young Demographers which will take place from 7 to 9 February 2024 in Prague at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. The working language of the conference is English. If you are interested in participating, please submit your work via the submission form before 20 October 2023.
The 15th Conference of Young Demographers will take place in February 2024
Traditionally, the Conference of Young Demographers offers an exceptional opportunity to spend three days discussing current demographic issues. It gives students and early career researchers the opportunity to learn and get feedback and advice from their colleagues from all over the world in a very friendly environment. This year the conference is again co-organised in cooperation with the Association for Young Historical Demographers (AYHD).
The 15th annual Conference of Young Demographers will take place from 7 to 9 February 2024 in Prague at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. Although the conference is mainly focused on (historical) demography, all young (in mind) researchers from various fields of population studies (sociology, epidemiology or maybe even economy) are welcome. The working language of the conference is English.
If you are interested in participating, please submit the title of your work, a short abstract in English (maximum 250 words) and 3–5 keywords via the submission form before Friday, 20 October 2023 (only one submission per first author is allowed). In addition, you can indicate whether you would like to submit your work as a poster or oral presentation.
Please note that we intend to give enough space to those who will opt for posters, and we put the same value on both posters and presentations. If you are undecided about the format, we recommend the following: oral presentation for work that is (almost) finished and you primarily want to share its results; poster for work-in-progress that you want to discuss with your colleagues or you are seeking advice for. The poster presentation also includes a 2-3 minute flash presentation (short talk). We would like to dedicate way more space for the poster session than usual; therefore, the number of oral presentations will be limited (you can check out programmes from the past two years to get an idea of the ratio).
You will be informed about acceptance by the beginning of December 2023. Unfortunately, we cannot provide financial support for your transport and other expenditures. However, there is no conference fee.
The final programme of the conference will be announced in January 2024.
