After the successful Czech edition, the Karolinum publishing house publishes the book about the life work of Pavel Aretin from Ehrenfeld, the map New and exact description of the Bohemian Kingdom, now also in an English version.

The book presents the life and the work of Pavel Aretin of Ehrenfeld, whose map New and Exact Description of the Bohemian Kingdom (1619, 1632, 1665, before 1747) was published 400 years ago. The authors identify and compare toponyms from all editions for the first time. The topographical tables with 9,600 historic toponyms of the Czech Lands are particularly unique and help to understand the settlement and economic development of Bohemia in the 17th century.
