Volcanic craters are not as “sleepy” as scientists thought
There is a hypothesis that says that after a major volcanic eruption, it takes a long time for a new one to form. It doesn’t always have to be the case though. A new study published in a prestigious scientific journal Nature Geoscience shows that volcanic craters are able to produce a large amount of material even relatively shortly after a major eruption. Günther Kletetschka from the Faculty of Science, Charles University was part of an international team conducting this research.
