Our faculty succeeded in the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship
The LeishBlock project will be led by Dr. Andreia Albuquerque-Wendt, who will spend 2 years at the Swiss Tropical And Public Health Institute and then 1 year at our faculty, where her postdoc supervisor will be Professor Petr Volf from the Department of Parasitology. In the MSCA PF 2023 call, a total of 8039 applicants from all over the world applied for the fellowship, in the Czech Republic 12 applicants were successful.

Quo Vadis Chemie
An innovative method for detecting geology hidden beneath the surface
Kurosh Karimi and Günther Kletetschka from the Institute of Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology and Applied Geophysics at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, have described a new method for locating bodies hidden beneath the surface. The new method allows estimating the position, especially the depth of the underground structure and was published in the journal Scientific Reports.
The "Let's transfer science" conference was held for the first time this year at Albertov
On the sixth of February, the Faculty of Science of Charles University brought together the leaders of a number of disciplines for the Let's transfer science conference, organized by Associate Professor Vladimír Krylov, Vice Dean for Science, Research, Scientific Information and Academic Qualifications, Knowledge and Technology Transfer.

15th Conference of Young Demographers
We are happy to invite you to the 15th Conference of Young Demographers which will take place on 7–9 February 2024 at Albertov 6. To celebrate 15 years of conference, we invited three guests, our previous attendees: Olga Kurtinová (Faculty of Science, Charles University), Liili Abuladze (Tallinn University) and Cosmo Strozza (University of Southern Denmark). The registration for passive participation is open until 29 January, 2024.

Conference: Let's Transfer Science - Technology Transfer at the Faculty of Science

Unveiling Nature's Patterns
A new review on repeated adaptation has just been published in the prestigious journal Trends in Ecology and Evolution. The paper is a result of a collaborative effort between the Faculty of Science, Charles University and the University of Bern and the main author is Magdalena Bohutínská. The article also appeared as a "cover story" in the April print edition of the journal, in which the text itself constitutes "featured content".
