George Q. Daley, dean of Harvard Medical School and the Caroline Shields Walker Professor of Medicine at HMS, is an internationally recognized leader in stem cell science and cancer biology. His research focuses on the development of hematopoiesis and diseases of the bone marrow, blood and immune system. Before becoming Dean of Harvard Medical School, he was a research fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Director of the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Program at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Boston Children's Hospital. He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
