The courses

European Organization of Spatial Data Research (EuroSDR) is going to carry out the fifth educational service (EduServ5) from March to June 2007. It will consist of four two-week e-learning courses:

1. Methods for checking and improving of Digital Terrain Models
2. An Inquiry on the Quality of Geospatial Data and on Related Statistical Concepts
3. Mapping with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
4. Laserscanning for 3D city models

The courses are intended for all who work with spatial information sciences. Topics of the courses follow the latest research and outcomes of EuroSDR projects. The teaching method is based on the 'learning by doing' principle. During the two week period the participants study delivered materials and are asked to solve given tasks. A daily contact between the teachers and participants is established via a conference system.

Introductory seminar

An introductory seminar will be held at Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science, from March 29 to 30, 2007. Participants will hear presentations of the four subjects; they will be introduced to the course material and get familiar with the structure of the courses. The introductory seminar also contains a social program including a joint dinner and a sightseeing tour.
