I study formation of mafic and intermediate granulites which can represent products of metamorphic and metasomatic interaction between felsic granulites and garnet pyroxenites. The studied areas are currently rocks of granulite massifs St. Leonhard and Dunkelsteiner Wald in Lower Austria belonging to the Gföhl unit of the Moldanubian zone in the Bohemian Massif. My study consists of a detailed petrographic study of the mineral phases under an optical microscope with an emphasis on the study of textures that could be related to metasomatic and metamorphic processes of formation of these rocks. The research also deals with the behavior of major and trace elements in the volume of rock and also within the individual minerals and with thermodynamic modeling of all lithologies.
