Project annotation

Specific part of a complex of measures for prevention against floods and extreme droughts in future could be procedures realized in headwaters. For water retention enhancement analyses of an influence of the single p-g factor on runoff generation process and its dynamics need to be done very in detail using modern approaches. Suitable conditions for this research realization are related to the existence of unique network of automatic hydro-climatic stations in selected experimental catchments of Otava River headwaters (SW Czechia), representing the core zone of an extreme runoff episodes formation. For the retention ability assessment the quantification of potential retention spaces in a catchment, the analysis of peat bogs hydrological function using isotope hydrology and the consideration of their former drainage channels dyking should be done using up-to-date rainfall-runoff, hydrodynamic and geoinformation modelling methods.
