We would like to invite you to the 11th International Conference „State of geomorphological researches in 2010” which will be organized by Department of physical geography and geoecology, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. It will take place in the Hrubý Jeseník Mts. from 11. May 2010 to 13. May 2010.

Steppe or forest? International pedological research awarded
Barbora Vysloužilová from the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology was awarded by the Dean’s prize of the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science for her phd thesis „Steppes ou forêts? Les conditions environnementales de la formation et de ľévolution des chernozems en Europe Centrale”. Her dissertation was made as a joint research (cotutelle) with the University of Strasbourg.
The 13th International Symposium on Geo-disaster Reduction in Prague
The International Consortium on Geo-disasters (ICGdR) together with the Czech scientific community shall be holding the 13th International Symposium on Geo-disaster Reduction in Prague between the 9th and 11th of August 2015. The forthcoming event is an opportunity to bring to­gether geoscientists, engineers and social scientists to collaborate on disaster reduction worldwide.

Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology opens a PostDoc position for 8 months (October 2020 – May 2021) in following thematic areas (alternatively); 1) Atmospheric circulation and/or extreme climate and weather events, 2) Natural hazards and risks with focus on slope processes, 3) Runoff processes and catchment hydrology, 4) Numerical modelling of past climate-glacier interaction and 5) Response of woody plants to climate change.
