Prague Museum Night at Albertov!
Thousands of people interested in collections and research at the Faculty of Science came ninth June 2012 to Albertov to spend together the Prague Museum Night. Geographical library staff, Map collection staff and students of geography have prepared a rich program. On the second floor, visitors could see a successful exhibition of Atlas of Landscape (exhibition runs until the end of July) and watch some film about geography, whose creators are students of the third grade geography. Movies - What is geography? We love geography and Study geography was created by students in the course Theory and practice of geographic education designed with the intent to promote geography as a scientific discipline or educational subject.
Quiz Around the World - introduced excerpts from the works of famous travelers and some photos, according to which visitors guessed the country, monument or natural phenomenon.
In the left drafting room was prepared the game Where is Uppsala? called under the same name game.
In the ground floor were played games “All roads lead to Albertov “ and “Physical Geography of Asia”.
Students also prepared an events “Discover the world with all senses” and “Taste the sea”
In the basement were made some globes (an event called Earth revolves). There was also presented a history of making globes. Visitors also voted a best globe of Museum night. Globe winner by Šimon, Anička and Kristýna was named Ball country and creators worked on it 1,5 hour in total. All globes you can see here or in the foyer of the Geographical library.
This Museum Night was a success and the visitors left Albertov pleasant and filled with new impressions, knowledge and with a good feelings of a pleasant evening.
