Library Reopened: Current Rules for Visitors

The library was reopened to the public from Monday, 4th of May, but still operates in a limited mode that meets the requirements of emergency measures. Conditions for visiting the library can be found below.

The library will be open to students, staff and the public daily (Mon-Fri) from 9.00 - 12.00.

The maximum number of readers in the library is 5.

It is necessary to keep a distance of 2 meters.

The books will be returned only in the entrance hall to the bibliobox, from there they will be immediately moved to the quarantine in a separate room under special measures, where they will remain for 5 days. These books cannot be borrowed at this time.

Readers complete, sign, and submit an affidavit stating that there are no symptoms of a viral infectious disease. The document is available to download, print and complete down below this article, or in printed form in the library.

After returning the books, readers can enter the library's study rooms after disinfection, with masks and protective gloves.

Readers spend only the time necessary to borrow in the library. Long-term work or study in the library is not possible. Readers do not touch instruments and books without protective gloves.

It is forbidden to use the lockers.

All loans (that were supposed to be returned during the time of quarantine) were extended until September 18, 2020.

The interlibrary loan service in Prague will be implemented only if the partner library refuses to lend books from the collection to the student or staff.

The library provides and prioritizes online consultations and advice.

We will provide the public with disinfection from self-service dispensers and, if necessary, disposable gloves. Visitors must bring their own masks or respirators.
