EURO-HEALTHY (Program HORIZON 2020)

  • Health inequities have been increasing in Europe, particularly in a context of an ageing society and economic crisis. In countries with different levels of infrastructures and health system preparedness, inequities create significant policy challenges.The main goal of this project is to advance knowledge of policies that have the highest potential to enhance health and health equity across European regions with particular focus on metropolitan areas

 

Small and Medium Sized Towns (Program ESPON, 2012-2013)

  • Research supervisor for Czechia: prof. Luděk Sýkora
  • The project analyzes the role of small and medium-sized cities in regional development, examines small and medium-sized cities in their specific territorial context using regional case studies, and recommends better development strategies for small and medium-sized cities.

 

Evaluating the Impact of Structural Policies on Health Inequalities and their Social Determinants and Fostering Change (Program SOPHIE, Seventh Framework Programme, 2011-2015)

  • Research supervisor for Czechia: assoc. prof. Dagmar Dzúrová
  • The project focuses on structural policies that address the causes of inequalities in the health status of the population of selected countries. It evaluates the impact and effectiveness of structural policies and develops innovative techniques for the evaluation of structural policies in Europe.

 

Smart Specialization and Regional Innovation (Program SMARTSPEC, Seventh Framework Programme, 2013-2016)

  • Research supervisor for Czechia: assoc. prof. Jiří Blažek
  • The overarching goal of the project is to operationalize the concept of smart specialization to make it useful to various regional actors. This will be achieved by strengthening the analytical underpinnings of smart specialization, which will provide methodological guidance for its implementation and generate strategic intelligence for policy-makers.

 

Transport Accessibility at Regional/Local Scale and Patterns in Europe (Program ESPON, 2010-2013)

  • Research supervisor for Czechia: assistant prof. Miroslav Marada
  • This project deals with transportation accessibility and its potential for economic development at the regional, European and global scales. Its aim is to evaluate differences in transportation access for road, railway, water and air transportation, to model the impacts of differences in the quality of accessibility on regional development, and to predict future development.
