We would like to inform you about the Call for papers for the EAPS Health, Morbidity and Mortality Working Group Workshop (Theme: “New Challenges: New Issues”) co-organized by the Department of Demography and Geodemography (Charles University) and University of Economics in Prague. The deadline for abstracts is on 25th June 2021.

The past year has opened up many untrodden paths! We have had to deal with new research issues as well as having to face the challenges of everyday life. Most of this has been related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, we have had to learn new procedures, use innovative tools, including cloud-based platforms for video and audio conferencing and distance learning. Nonetheless, we would still like to plan for a hybrid meeting of the working group, for both on-site attendees and remote participants.

The theme of “New Challenges” will cover new, and only partially solved issues, as well as the ongoing ones which now have to be solved under completely different conditions. The goal is to prepare a range of sessions covering challenges in current health, morbidity, and mortality research.

You can send your abstracts to hmmwg.eaps@gmail.com until the 25th of June 2021. The meeting will be hybrid, as many of us as possible will be in Prague, but for those with travel difficulties, we will be broadcasting live and interactively. Details will be fine-tuned during the summer and we will keep you informed.

So if you haven't already sent in your abstract, now is your chance. Please see our workshop website at https://hmmwg2021.vse.cz/ and the call for papers at https://hmmwg2021.vse.cz/homepage/call-for-papers/. You can contact us via e-mail and on the new Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/EAPSHMMWG).

Looking forward to seeing you in Prague (or online!)
