Master Study Program

Applicants for the Master of Science Degree must graduate from the Bachelor Degree Program in Cartography, Geomatics, Geography GeoEcology or Geodesy. The Master of Science study aims to provide a comprehensive knowledge of theory, methods and practical applications of Geoinformatics.

The Program prepares the student for applied research in Geomatics, analogue and digital map and atlas design and production, spatial data visualization and animation, remote sensing use and applications, general and thematic cartography, geodesy and surveying, cadastre, spatial databases, physical and social geography, demography and cartographic production.

Students actively participate in research projects and are expected to adopt a self-motivated and independent approach to scientific activities of the Department. A portion of the study program can be completed at a University abroad.

The program graduates find employment in the Czech surveying and cadastral insitutions, Ministries and State and Regional offices with geoinformatics, cartographic or geodesy activies.

Example of offered courses:
Visualization, distribution and theory of spatial data, topography, remote sensing (advanced), and natural resources management, database design and management.
