I aim to understand biological principles applicable in conservation practice using birds as model organisms. I lead a team whose members focus on three major research areas:
1. ecological mechanisms (processes generating the patterns in community composition and population dynamics)
2. ecological modeling (development of the tools tounderstand the mechanisms)
3. conservation science (critical evaluation and improvement of conservation approaches based on ecological reasoning).
