K2 course (entry level A0)

Two-semester course for students at the A0 English proficiency level

Students improve their understanding of basic vocabulary, read short texts, timetables, menus, etc. They also work on improving communication in everyday situations and write personal messages and notes. The grammar covered in this course coincides with the grammar included in textbooks of the same level that follow the CERR framework (www.examenglish.com/CEFR/cefr_grammar.htm).

What does it mean to reach the A2 proficiency level do according to the CEFR framework?

An ability to deal with simple, straightforward information and begin to express oneself in familiar contexts.

Examples:

Can take part in a routine conversation on simple predictable topics.

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).

Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
