On behalf of the rector of Charles University, Prof. Milena Králíčková, we would like to cordially invite you to the international conference Sustainability in an Unstable World, which will take place on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 at 10.00 a.m. in the Karolina Patriotic Hall. The conference will feature presentations on biodiversity and the Green Deal for Europe by world-renowned experts in the fields of ecology, sustainable development and environmental economics. The programme will also include a discussion. Registration until 9 November.

Charity event Sport Unites

After the successful first event Sport Unites with the intention to run the distance between Prague and Kiev to show support for Ukraine, there is another challenge. This time, as part of the European Week of Sport, we will be running from Kiev to Brussels on the UK FTVS athletics oval on Tuesday 27 September 2022. Throughout the day, you can take part not only in the relay run, but also in a varied accompanying programme. There is no age limit for runners, students, staff and the public can take part. The entry fee is free.

After a two-year enforced break, the European Muscle Conference (EMC) will take place again this year. 15. International Conference GeoRaman 2022

The 15th International Scientific Conference GeoRaman 2022 will be held from 29 August to 1 September at Karolinum, the historic building of Charles University. The GeoRaman conference series is a traditional gathering of top scientists focusing on the application of analytical method of Raman spectroscopy in the geosciences, planetary sciences and cultural heritage. The Congress of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology - ESEB 2022 will take place at the Prague Congress Centre from 14 to 19 August 2022. The programme is organised by the Geomigration team from the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development with the support of the European International Network for Migration and Integration Research IMISCOE. Faculty hosts international open science meeting of the European Pollen Database

The International Meeting of the Open Science Community of the European Pollen Database will be held at the Faculty of Science, Albertov 6, from 1 to 3 June 2022. For the first time in a long time, this meeting will support the community of paleoecologists who are concerned with the long-term evolution of ecosystems and landscapes in relation to climate change and human activities. The lectures (in English only) are open to the public and admission is free, and there will also be an interactive mini-exhibition linking art with microfossils.
