The 27th American semester is underway
The main goal of the program, hosted by the Geography Section and the Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, is to provide American students with a comprehensive overview of the geography of the Czech Republic in the context of the development of Europe, and especially the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. In several comprehensive lecture blocks supplemented by a series of thematically related field trips, students are gradually introduced to all relevant aspects of the spatial and social development of the Czech Republic, especially in recent decades.
The implementation of international cooperation with a prestigious American university is also a significant enrichment for the Czech side with new professional and human experience, not only for the teachers but also for the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students of the Geography Section of the Faculty of Science of Charles University who are involved in the organisation of the programme.
