Results of the photo contest Šutroskop (MicROCKscopia)

The evening of 4 May was devoted to the announcement of the results of the first year of the geoscience-themed photography competition for students of all disciplines and years of the Faculty of Science of Charles University "Šutroskop". The competition was organized by the Geological Art Society (GAS).

The competition photos could be submitted until April 14, 2023, and a total of 69 photos of any geological materials were submitted.

The competition photos were judged by an independent expert panel from the faculty and other scientific institutions. The winning photos were exhibited at the final ceremony.

The exhibition of the winning works can be viewed until June 2, 2023, in the Kettner workroom at the Library of Geology.

The competition was organized under the leadership of the Geological Art Association, in cooperation and with the support of the Faculty of Science of Charles University and the SGA Student Chapter Prague Association. The main sponsor of the competition was Carl Zeiss spol. s.r.o., and the competition was further supported by the faculty project "Přírodovědci.cz" and companies 4C minerals, s.r.o., Dinosauria Museum Prague, Kamienok s.r.o., and Pavel Rozkošný - a microscope service technician.

The first year of the competition was only for students (Bc., Mgr., PhD.) of the Faculty of Science of Charles University, and each of them could submit a maximum of three competition photos.
