Offer of LINDAT/CLARIAH‐CZ and UFAL MFF UK capacities for the fight against SARS‐CoV‐2

Main contact: Jan Hajič (hajic@ufal.mff.cuni.cz). Technical support: Milan Fučik (fucik@ufal.mff.cuni.cz)

1. LINDAT/CLARIAH‐CZ and its host organization, the Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics (ÚFAL) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague, offers its computing cluster capacity for research computation devoted to fight the SARS‐CoV‐2 coronavirus and the COVID‐19 disease, in the amount of ~1000 CPUs, for the period of three months, starting at April 1, 2020. More information and how to apply for an account and quota on the cluster, plus a technical description of the capabilities of the cluster, how to run jobs, transfer data etc, can be found at

https://covid.ufal.mff.cuni.cz

Please note that the decisions to allow access will be made at the discretion of the infrastructure
management, mainly on first‐come first‐serve basis if fulfilling the above criteria.

2. LINDAT/CLARIAH‐CZ also offers, for the same time span of three months starting April 1, 2020, to
allow unlimited* access to its Natural Language Processing services as listed at its regular website at

https://lindat.mff.cuni.cz/en/services

Most of these services can be accessed through a REST API,
without any authentication or authorization. The APIs allow to use the NLP tools directly from code or
scripts, automating tasks such as analysis of social media posts in 80+ languages (cf. the tool “UDPipe”), translation to and from English to and from several EU languages and similar services.

*The limit is only the computing capacity of LINDAT/CLARIAH‐CZ webservice servers. We cannot
guarantee availability if demand is high. There is also a possibility to download the open source tools
and use them as such, for example in the available cluster described at (1), or anywhere else. See the
repository and list of services for exact conditions.
