BIOCEV: SINGLE MOLECULE Microscopy and Manipulation
SINGLE MOLECULE Microscopy and Manipulation
Practical Course
SIS code: MB151C01
Practical hands-on training on selected single-molecule experimental techniques and data analysis, belonging to group of methods known as quantitative bio-imaging.
October 30. - November 3., 2017
BIOCEV, Vestec
Using molecular motors and supported lipid bilayers as model systems, and also live cells for some methods, you will carry out state-of-the-art single-molecule detection and imaging using Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) based methods and Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy. You will also use Optical Tweezers to manipulate single molecules and to measure forces exerted by single molecular motors.
Registration deadline: August 30., 2017
The course is supported by the National Infrastructure for Biological and Medical Imaging (Czech-BioImaging, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports – Large Research Infrastructure, LM2015062).
Pre-Registration
About 16 attendees will be selected to participate in the course. The selection will be based on the benefit of the participation for their research and career plans (you will be asked for a short motivation statement during the registration).
