METHODOLOGICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SUBMISSION OF BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S THESES CAN BE FOUND ON THE WEBSITE OR HERE. There is also information on what to do if you do cannot to manage submission of your work in time.

Applications for the state final exam are submitted electronically. The application deadline is binding, a change of deadline will only be allowed with documentation of personal or health reasons. In case of failure, according to the Study and Examination Regulations of the University of Applied Sciences of the UK, individual parts of the SZZK can be repeated after sixty days at the earliest.

General application (interruption of studies, (re)registration for the state exam, remission/reduction of fees, etc.) ATTENTION – the individual parts of the exams can be divided (e.g. state paper in the spring term and defense in the autumn term).

Diploma thesis

  • 2 - 4 hardbound copies are submitted (see below)
    (including Czech and English title consistent with SIS, Czech and English abstract and appendices)
  • submit to the department's secretariat
  • ATTENTION - two copies in hardcover are mandatory for storage in libraries, but the supervisor and the opponent are also entitled to DP in hardcover, so before printing it is necessary to agree with the supervisor whether you want to have the work bound in 2, 3, or 4!!!

    - the author's name, Diploma thesis, year must be on the back of the thesis
    - PRINT ON BOTH SIDES, save paper

Thesis defense

30 minutes are set aside for the defense, each student has approx. 10, maximum 12 minutes for the presentation, followed by the reading of opinions, a discussion with the opponent and a public discussion.

During the presentation, focus on the important things, mention the methodology (if it is not central) only marginally, and above all show the main results of your work, comment on them and put them in context. It is not wrong to use a graph/image from an already published work/article if you want to demonstrate the context of your results, there is no rule that only your results should be in the presentation (although it must always be clear what your work is) . If your work is part of a larger project, specify well what you did and what others did. And don't forget to make the presentation visually friendly so that the audience can quickly get their bearings on the slides, it is definitely better to use less text and more illustrative diagrams/graphs/pictures.
