Inforation brochure

is an interdisciplinary part of Faculty of science focused on research and teaching about environment.

Its history dates back to 1970's when the first education program about environment started. In 1981department of Nature protection and landscape ecology was founded. Until 2005, more than 500 students graduated. In 1987 Journal „Acta Universitatis Carolinae – Environmentalica“ was founded. The Institute itself was founded in 1990, just after Velvet revolution. 

Institute offers bachelor's, master's and PhD. study programs. Technical equipment allows teaching and research in many fields of environment, notably air, water, nature protection, waste and  GIS (geographic information systems). The Institute cooperates with many university departments, institutes of the Academy of Sciences and foreign institutions, particularly through joint projects, master's and PhD programs.
