Study at the Department of Physical and Macromolecular chemistry
Physical chemistry is an interdisciplinary field in which physical methods and theory are used to study chemical problematics. Physical chemistry is concerned, both experimentally and theoretically, with causes and general rules of the chemical processes, with relationship between chemical structure and properties of substances, with development of methods for determination of structure and composition of substances and with methods for study of processes on submolecular, molecular and supramolecular level.
The characteristic feature of modern physical chemistry is multidisciplinary approach. Currently the physical chemistry overlaps with all other chemical disciplines and moreover with biology and physics. Therefore, the logic conclusion is that Department of Physical and Macromolecular chemistry provides 5 Master's degree programmes and 3 Ph.D. programmes.
