The study of Plant Genetics is focused particularly on the specific characteristics of plants and their genetic information (from cellular or sub-cellular level to the level of whole organism or population). Its students will become acquainted with various methods used for the analysis or modification of plant genome. At the same time, they will receive a good general education in the fields of molecular biology and genetics, as well as in plant physiology. They can find their place e.g. in agricultural and plant breeding practice, applied and basic research.
